Red Tiki

On November 1st, the brave slaves of Red Tiki Island banded together to form a Movember team, the Tiki Ticklers. With bare upper lips, they began the growth to raise awareness and money for men’s health.

The slaves used social media to show off their face grown, hand groomed, lip warmers. With a running photo album on Facebook, documenting the growth of guys and girls alike. Feel free to check out the results for yourself. To top off a great month of facial hair growth, we gathered together to share in a round of delicious mojitos and a sausage sizzle.

Many of the teams donations came via social media, with multitude of posts on the Red Tiki King’s Facebook and Twitter fueling the donations. With hundreds of followers, these were great channels to spread the word. In total, the Tiki Ticklers raised 475 Clams and a whole bunch of awareness over the month. All donations raised went directly to The Movember Foundation who work closely with The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and Beyondblue: the national depression initiative.

Most importantly, we would like to think that raising awareness of the many manly issues took priority. The statistics on men’s health are eye opening to say the least and you can find a handful of statistics on the Movember website. Who knows, The Tiki Ticklers might have even inspired a few guys to visit the doctor to have a check-up. If not, it’s never too late.
